How to Dispose of Unused Fireworks

Customers can always get contact with us via email, by phone or even when they walk into our showroom, to ask us a variety of questions regarding fireworks. Like you would expect, the majority of them are related to our products, as well as our wedding fireworks shows that are professionally designed However, we also get occasional odd and even odd-looking question that comes up.

A recent issue, which led to the idea for this post, is how can I dispose of unused fireworks safely? We received a call from a person who found some fireworks in an old lock-up which had not been cleaned out in more than ten years.

In the past, we’ve examined the possibility of storing fireworks leftover in a safe manner. What should you do if, as a customer, you’ve discovered some old fireworks and want to dispose of them in a safe manner or perhaps you’ve had your own show in the past and recently found an old firework collection that you’d forgot about.

Old fireworks don’t mean anything.

Even if your fireworks are old does not mean that you need to perform anything extra in addition to the normal things you dispose of fireworks.

What is it that you mean by properly get rid of fireworks?

Simply turn them off!

Why not simply set off the fireworks you just discovered? The fireworks don’t last forever like we said in the past. While there is a possibility that your fireworks will not fire properly or even at all but you’re not putting yourself at risk by attempting. If your fireworks do not explode, and you don’t get them to fire, then you’ll need to put them on the ground for about 24 hours to be sure they aren’t burning and won’t blow up in your face However, other than that there’s nothing to worry about.

If you’re in a position that you aren’t sure about the kind of firework or you’re not up-to current on the most recent firework laws and regulations of your area, make sure to check before you set them off.
The most important thing you do not want is to have your enjoyment be destroyed and you to be detained because you set off fireworks that are illegal without even realizing it!

If You Want to dispose of them

If you’re not a firework enthusiast and just seen your fireworks as our customer did, you might decide to dispose of the fireworks in a safe manner. Although they could be disposed of in the trash of your day but first, you must make them inert by drowning them. A period of 48 hours in water will remove the explosive components and make them inert. After that, you can dispose of the fireworks in your garbage, and the water must be poured over your garden and not down the drain as it could contain nitrates as well as other contaminants. They won’t harm your plans, but they could even add nutrition to the fireworks.
