Edgware Man Jailed After Items Stolen At Stansted Airport

A man from Edgware is among pair jailed after they admitted to have stolen more than £3,000 worth of items at Stansted Airport.

Marian Filip, 43, of Stanway Gardens has been sentenced to eight weeks in prison along with a 37-year-old woman of no fixed address, Donrina-Irina Filip Catana.

The incident reportedly happened inside the World Duty Free shop at the airport on Tuesday (March 26) when Essex Police were alerted by a staff member about seeing a man and a woman act suspiciously.

Officers located Donrina in airside toilets with the stolen items, while Marian was found shortly after when he was about to board a flight.

They were both arrested and charged with theft and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on March 27 where they admitted to the offences.

They have since been jailed for eight weeks.
