Hackney And Tower Hamlets: Arrest After ‘window Smashing’

A man has been arrested after reports of windows smashed at businesses in Tower Hamlets and Hackney.

The man, in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Police received a report of six windows being smashed at a premises in East Ferry Road on Thursday, March 23.

This is believed to have taken place between 1.20am and 8am on Thursday.

Officers received another report of a window smashed at a premises in Selsdon Way on Monday (March 27).

The incident is believed to have taken place between 11.30pm on Sunday (March 26) and 8am on Monday.

Ch Insp Dave Hodges said: “An arrest had been made and the investigation is ongoing.

“I understand and acknowledge the personal and economic costs these incidents have had on their victims and can reassure you that the Metropolitan Police is committed to bringing all offenders to justice.”
