Kemi Badenoch Slammed For Rudeness After Speaker Tells Her Off

Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch was slammed online by voters after a video surfaced of her being blasted by the Speaker of the House.

The MP for Saffron Walden was under fire when the Government’s decision to ditch plans to let thousands of EU laws expire by the end of the year was announced in newspapers before being heard by MPs.

In response to this, the MP told Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, that she was “very sorry that the sequencing that we chose was not to your satisfaction”.

This was met by fury from Sir Hoyle with him telling Badenoch: “That is totally not acceptable.

“Who do you think you’re speaking to?… I am not going to be spoken to by a Secretary of State who is absolutely not accepting my ruling”

“I am not going to be spoken to by a Secretary of State who is absolutely not accepting my ruling.

“Take it with good grace and accept it that members should hear it first.”

The Speaker added that “this government needs to recognise that we’re all elected, we’re all members of Parliament and to use the correct manners.”

Badenoch replied: “Mr Speaker, I apologise. What I was trying to say is that I’m sorry that I didn’t meet the standards that you expect of Secretaries of State.”

Our EU Law Bill is:

➡️Taking back control of our laws ✅

➡️Ending ECJ jurisdiction this year ✅

Now my priority is to use this bill to drive regulatory reforms which will give business greater certainty and boosts economic growth.
